Bus Fares Changing September 2

For the first time in five years, Omnitrans is implementing a bus fare change, effective Monday, September 2, 2019.

Omnitrans is committed to providing an affordable transportation option for residents and visitors in the San Bernardino Valley. In order to maintain bus service levels as operating costs rise, the new fares (below) will go into effect for single rides and bus passes valid on Omnitrans local routes, Freeway Express routes, OmniGo shuttles, sbX rapid transit, and Access ADA paratransit.

Passes purchased before September 2 will remain valid until their expiration date. In fact, we recommend you pre-purchase bus passes now at their current prices if you’d like to save a bit of cash!

For bus pass purchases online, visit our Omnitrans e-store, or go paper with mobile fares on the free Token Transit app. Bus passes may also be purchased in person at pass outlets or at the San Bernardino Transit Center.

Onboard 7-Day Pass Sales
To speed up the boarding process, 7-Day Passes will no longer be sold onboard. 7-Day Passes are available at the San Bernardino Transit Center, pass outlets, and on the Token Transit mobile fare app.

$1 Summer Youth Fare Returns with an Additional Month of Summer Fun!

This summer, the sun will shine bright, and the rides will be cheaper. With more free time on your hands, Omnitrans makes it easy to get out and explore with $1 bus rides! Due to rising popularity among young riders, the Summer Youth Fare deal returns during June, July, and, new this year, August.

Riders 18 and under may take advantage of the summertime promotion on any Omnitrans route, including: Freeway Express, sbX, or OmniGo community circulators (regularly $1.75 for one-way rides) from June 1 through August 31, 2019. That’s one extra month of discounted rides to summer fun than in prior years.

The discounted fare is also available on smartphones using Token Transit mobile ticketing. To get started, download the free Token Transit app and go paperless. Pay using a debit or credit card then flash your activated pass on your smartphone to the driver when boarding.

Riders should be ready to show bus drivers proof of age or school ID card to confirm eligibility for discount, if asked. To plan your ride, use our online Trip Planner, type in your origin and destination, and you’re off to a summer adventure!

Discounted $1 Summer Youth Fare Returns in June and July!

Getting around town will be a little cheaper for San Bernardino Valley youth this summer, thanks to a discounted fare on Omnitrans buses! Riders 18 and under will pay just $1 per trip June 1 through July 31, compared to the regular single-ride cash rate of $1.75.

Riders have a choice of paying cash on board or paying by phone using the Token Transit mobile app. To download the free app, customers can text TOKEN to 41411.

“Using the mobile app eliminates the need to carry cash or have exact change,” said Omnitrans spokesperson Wendy Williams.  “Riders can purchase by phone in advance, then save their passes in the app wallet until they are ready to board.”

The summer discount is good on all Omnitrans bus routes including 26 local routes, three freeway express routes, five OmniGo community shuttle routes and the sbX bus rapid transit line in San Bernardino and Loma Linda.

Students who appear to be close to age 19 should be prepared to show bus drivers proof of age or a high school ID card to prove they are eligible for the discount.
