Get to Know OmniRide Upland, New On-Demand Transit Service!
July 26, 2021
Omnitrans is excited to welcome OmniRide Upland – new microtransit service in the Upland community starting Monday, August 9, 2021. Residents and visitors to Upland may reserve their OmniRide trips within the service area boundary (see map below) for only $4 each way. For the entire month of August, however, OmniRide Upland customers get half-off all trip reservations using promo code 50OFF to ride for only $2 each way!
How to Reserve Your Ride
- Using the free OmniRide On-Demand mobile app available on the App Store and Google Play, you can reserve trips to and from any location within the OmniRide Upland service area (map below).
- When you book your trip, the app guides you to the closest “virtual stop” for pick-up, typically the closest intersection to your origin.
- An OmniRide van will arrive within 15 minutes for pick-up and proceed to another virtual stop, which will be another location close to your requested drop-off point. Note: Customers also may book their trip via phone at 909-383-1680.
OmniRide Upland service is available on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Vehicles are accessible for people with disabilities who require a mobility device. Fare is $4 per single ride ($2 discounted fare for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities) and includes an Omnitrans day pass for ease of transfer to traditional fixed-route bus service. K-12 students may book OmniRide trips for $2 as part of the Free Fares for School student program.
OmniRide Upland connects to Omnitrans Routes 66, 83, 84, 85, and 88 and to Metrolink at the Montclair Transit Center and downtown Upland Station for connections by train to the broader region, including Los Angeles and San Bernardino.
Fare can be paid by credit/debit card on the app, or with cash onboard (exact change only).
This is only one of several service enhancements taking effect on August 9th, including Free Fares for School for K-12 students and restored bus frequency on a few routes. More information is available in the Guide to August 2021 Service Changes.
