New Omnitrans Destinations and Enhanced Connections!

September 18, 2020

This month, we were pleased to increase bus frequency on the most popular Omnitrans routes after limiting service in April due to stay-at-home orders. In addition to restoring some frequency to Routes 1, 3, 4, 14, 61, 66, and 290, we introduced a redesigned Route 81 and new Route 87, which incorporates elements of the previously existing Routes 80 and 86. Whether you like to explore with your family or get to work, both routes provide new destinations and enhanced connectivity for access to the broader Southern California region!

New Connection to Metrolink’s Riverside Line

Route 81, with a northern origin at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, runs south along Haven, with a slight deviation to Ontario Mills, before continuing south along Haven Ave (see map below). The route ends at the Ontario-East Metrolink station, connecting Omnitrans riders to the Riverside line train with westbound service to Downtown Los Angeles’ Union Station and eastbound service to Downtown Riverside. Any plans this weekend? Give this connection a try!

First-Ever Service to Eastvale for Essential Workers

For the first time, new Route 87 provides transit service from San Bernardino County into Riverside County’s Eastvale. Also originating at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, Route 87 shoots down Rancho Cucamonga along Vineyard, before snaking through Ontario, and ending in the burgeoning Ontario Ranch/Eastvale region (see map below).

Route 87 directly connects San Bernardino County residents to essential employment centers such as Costco, and Amazon fulfillment centers LGB3, DCA2, and SLA5 – conveniently located on Goodman

With these routes, Omnitrans makes it easy to safely explore Los Angeles and Riverside with the family, or get to work in Eastvale, by providing new destinations and connection opportunities.
