Omnitrans mobile fare now available on the Transit app!

June 10, 2020

Starting Monday, June 15, 2020, Omnitrans customers can plan their trips, track bus arrivals, make multimodal connections – and pay their bus fare using Transit, the official app of Omnitrans. As a special offer, through July 1, 2020, your first Transit app fare purchase comes with a FREE 7-day Omnitrans pass!

Ticketing through the Transit app is powered by Token Transit, a mobile fare outlet that Omnitrans customers are already familiar with. This new partnership streamlines the Omnitrans customer experience to meet all customer needs from a single app and helps keep customers and employees safe from COVID-19 spread by providing a contactless payment form.

To purchase single rides or multi-day passes, simply tap “Buy ticket” at the bottom of the Transit app’s home screen. A series of prompts will guide you through the fare payment process, including selection of traveler type and ticket/pass type.

If you do not have a Transit app user account, you will be directed to create a Transit app account using your e-mail address. Users will need to store a credit/debit card information to make purchases.

NOTE: Token Transit app accounts do not carry over to the Transit app. A separate account will be required in each app, and your passes do not carry over from app to app. Valid passes on your Token Transit app may continue to be used on that app. Passes are stored in the “My tickets” section of the profile screen in Transit app, which can be accessed by clicking the gear icon on the top-left corner of the screen as shown below:

As with Token Transit, passes need to be activated when you are ready to ride and shown to the driver upon boarding:

Thoughts on “Omnitrans mobile fare now available on the Transit app!

  1. In 1968 during the Vietnam War I was sent to Hamilton AFB for CombatSchool training. I ended up going there via the bus depot at San Bernadino. It was right during the most intensive time in Nam. I had the most unpleasant time of being serenaded by a “A LONG HAIRED HIPPIE” while waiting on the bus. It was an unforgettable experience for a country boy!
