Rider Spotlight: Tashana’s Journey to Independence with Omnitrans
May 20, 2025
Tashana has been riding Omnitrans since she was 13. Now 19 and attending Chaffey College, she uses the bus several times a week to get to her classes at the Chino and Fontana campuses. With free student fares and a reliable system, riding the bus has become a key part of her daily routine, helping her stay independent while balancing a busy academic schedule.

When she was first getting started, Omnitrans Community Mobile Specialist Samuel Rodriguez helped her learn how to navigate the route to Chaffey Chino campus. These days, she’s confident using the system on her own and appreciates the peace of mind it brings. Instead of worrying about traffic or unpredictable drivers, she enjoys sitting back, listening to music, and cooling off in the AC during her ride.
Beyond school, Tashana also takes the bus to places like Ontario Mills mall for fun and downtime. For her, public transit offers more than just a ride; it’s a stress-free, affordable way to move forward, one destination at a time.
