Free Fares For School Program Expands Countywide!

Free Fares For School has been extended through the 2023-2024 school year and expanded countywide!
Omnitrans is pleased to announce the FREE Fares for School program will be extended through the 2023-2024 school year and expand countywide! The program, funded by San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) offers kindergarten – 12th graders FREE rides to school and provided more than 1,000,000 FREE rides for students since its inception!
“We are grateful that SBCTA (San Bernardino County Transportation Authority) has decided to fund Free Fares for School for the next school year, given its use and the need for such an initiative in our region,” said CEO/General Manager Erin Rogers. “Omnitrans is pleased to do its part to build the next generation of transit ridership.”
This new expansion will allow students to now use/continue to use the following bus services:
- Omnitrans
- Basin Transit
- Mountain Transit
- Needles Transit
- Victor Valley Transit Authority
There is no purchase or registration necessary, and students can board the bus for free, show their student ID to ride with Omnitrans,
