California Transit Association’s 57th Annual Fall Conference & Expo!

Omnitrans was the proud host of this years California Transit Association’s 57th Annual Fall
Conference! The CTA Conference was held at the Ontario Convention Center and this year’s theme – Adaptable. Sustainable. Equitable. – focused on the critical forces that must be in place to ensure
a successful future for the public transportation industry. This three-day Fall Conference consisted of
solution-driven conversation, dynamic education, and thoughtful keynotes all in an immersive and
exciting expo! At this conference we tackled five in-depth educational tracks that featured the sharpest minds from around the state to discuss issues including ZEB transition, closing the workforce skills gap, rebuilding ridership, enhancing the customer experience, combatting human trafficking, new state and federal funding programs, effective leadership, advancing diversity, and much more! We had some of our very own Omnitrans employees speak in some exciting concurrent sessions.

Chief Executive Officer/General Manager, Erin Rogers (at right) and Board of Directors Chair John Dutrey, opened the conference and welcomed everyone to the conference and expo. Chief Administrative Officer, Suzanne Pfeiffer, paneled on Improving Gender Diversity and Pay Equity in the Workplace.

Director of Marketing & Communications, Nicole Ramos, was a pivotal speaker in Demystifying the Algorithm: Maximizing Posts for Maximum Reach session and Marketing Specialist, Janice Kuhn spoke Schedule Books/ Pamphlets: To Print or Not to Print session. Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, Jeremiah Bryant was on the panel for Telling Transit’s New Story with Nationalized Data and Technical Services Manager, Victoria Chesney was a speaker on Key Considerations for Electrifying Bus Depots.

We also had special guests such as Chair Dutrey and Board members David Avila & Rafael Trujillo along with keynote speakers Vien Truong, policy expert, and strategist on building an equitable green economy, California Infrastructure Advisor Antonio Villaraigosa, and Peabody Award-winning broadcaster Majora Carter. Continued on page. 3 Dozens of Omnitrans employees volunteered to be ambassadors to assist throughout the event as room monitors, badge checkers, table staff, and shuttle guides.

When not attending sessions, attendees explored a vast expo hall unveiling the latest innovations and technologies this industry has to offer to learn about current and future-shaping technologies for transit. Thank you to the helpful ambassadors, drivers, and everyone else who participated in making this a very successful conference, and congratulations to all the speakers who did such a great job. A number of attendees complimented the friendliness & professionalism of the agency staff.

will be held in Pasadena on November 15th – 17th, 2023.
