On Saturday, January 14, Omnitrans hosted an event at its San Bernardino Transit Center (599 W. Rialto St.) from 9 AM – 1 PM where ten artists will painted original designs on concrete bus benches! There was also a bus bench for kids who painted during the event as well as public chalk art that was available for all ages. Booths at the SBTC were set up with poster boards that discussed and engaged the community in demonstrating potential solutions & gather community feedback on the ConnecTransit Plan.

Omnitrans wants to hear from you!

Omnitrans partners with community organizations to conduct outreach and develop a sustainable transportation equity plan as part of our ConnecTransit Plan which seeks feedback on our service, answers questions, and demonstrates the technology. The ConnecTransit plan defines community-identified transit needs and prioritizes projects that enhance transportation equity and sustainability in the San Bernardino Valley.

“The ConnecTransit plan is an important element in Omnitrans’ planning for the future of transportation in our region, and community input is a critical piece of that plan,” said CEO/General Manager Erin Rogers. “Combining this feedback opportunity with a demonstration of our bus bench painting project featuring local community artists seems ideal.”
