Guide to January 2021 Service Changes
December 14, 2020
Updated 1/3/2020: The original posting included information about SunLine Transit Agency’s 10 Commuter Link coming to the San Bernardino Transit Center, which is now delayed until further notice due to COVID-19 concerns. We apologize for any inconvenience.
It has been a long 2020, but here we are, gearing up for a new year that will hopefully be less unpredictable and more fortunate for all! Omnitrans is excited to enter 2021 with a brand new, redesigned look for the Bus Book (peek inside!), outlining the service changes going into effect Monday, January 4, 2021. #NewYearNewLook
In even more delightful news, service changes are minimal. Route 6 and Route 87 will have minor routing changes. Route 6 will travel on Rialto Avenue instead of Second Street between Mountain View Avenue and the SBTC. Route 87 will also continue to detour in Ontario, from 4th Street between Vineyard and Grove to 6th street due to ongoing freeway construction.
The remaining service changes, below, are minimal time adjustments. Be sure to check your Bus Book or Omnitrans.org before making a trip.
Although we looked forward to restoring service on additional routes, we will maintain current service levels at this time to match demand. Omnitrans has been closely monitoring ridership activity on all routes this year, and as of June 2020, data indicates that ridership has remained flat, down approximately 60% due to the COVID-19 pandemic and related stay at home orders, school, and business closures, etc.
Thank you to all essential workers – especially our own! – and those who rely on Omnitrans during this time. This year has been challenging, but we know that together, our community will come back stronger and more resilient than before.

Is the 67 bus coming back
Route 67 remains on hiatus due to Chaffey College classes still being held virtually. We apologize for the inconvenience.
When will route 81 resume service on riverside dr and haven south of the metrolink?
Hi Seth, Route 81 was redesigned as part of the ConnectForward service plan back in September. It will continue to operate as it has been since then. Please send us an email to planning@omnitrans.org to submit a service planning request.
I heard a few months ago 383 was being planned. What is the status of the route?
The planned Route 383 is currently on hold due to flat ridership levels during the pandemic.
Yes will bus 5 return
As of September 2020, the former Route 5 is partly served by new Routes 6 and 305.
Will you be adding a bus route to the preserves? Additionally, are you considering adding a bus route to either of the Corona Metrolink stations?
The Preserves in Chino? No plans for a bus route serving that community at this time. Corona, being part of Riverside County, is served by RTA. Their route maps and schedules can be seen here: https://www.riversidetransit.com/riding-the-bus/maps-schedules
When will you bring back the 2300’s fleet back to east valley?
Also why did you bring back the 1201-1250 fleet after a long time in the yard?
Several of the buses on our fleet were retrofitted with near-zero engines. Unsure about 2300’s.
In the SBTC why did you put both routes 6&10 in the same stop?
Limited bus bays. The time points are far enough apart to accommodate both routes, typically.
Will there be a Schedule Change on May 2 2021? Will it include increase service?
Hi Lisa, the Guide to May 2021 Service Changes can be seen here: https://omnitrans.org/blog/guide-to-may-2021-service-changes/
We are planning to increase service in August as more people return to work and school in person.
