Coach Operator Betty Lipsey Distributes Over 130 Hygiene Kits to Individuals In Need
February 24, 2021
Moved by the stories of the passengers she serves daily, Coach Operator Betty Lipsey took action to lend a helping hand by distributing over 130 hygiene kits at four different local parks for those in need throughout San Bernardino on February 14th.
Aptly named “Project Love Heart,” Betty spread the love on Valentine’s Day during a challenging time for the world by helping out those experiencing homelessness here in our local community.
“There are no more hugs due to COVID-19, and I just want to let people know that there is still love out there despite the circumstances,” says Betty.
Thanks to her efforts and the contributions of many, including departmental and individual donations at Omnitrans, Betty quickly exceeded her initial goal of 25 kits for those less fortunate this winter. Items included bars of soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, wipes, snacks and bottled water and juice.
“I am still feeding of the energy and love that was given on that day,” says Betty. “We all worked as a team on this and I’m so happy to have had this experience and make a difference. It was a wonderful experience.”
Good job
