Free Bus Rides for K-12 Students

Omnitrans buses are free for K-12 students beginning on August 1, 2021! Omnitrans Free Fares for School pilot program welcomes students back to in-person learning with free bus rides. Students can ride to school, after school activities, and around town to meet up with friends on safe Omnitrans buses, for free.

No purchase or registration necessary. Students can board the bus for free, just show your student ID to ride.

Omnitrans provides service to schools in San Bernardino county, work, shopping, and anywhere else you need to go. With your student ID, you can ride as much as you want. It’s your pass to freedom.

Omnitrans is dedicated to providing safe service, so you can ride the bus without worrying. We’ve implemented extended cleaning measures and follow CDC guidelines to keep everyone safe.

No registration is neccessary to participate in the Free Fares for Schools program. All students K-12 are eligible for free rides. A student ID may be requested when the student boards a bus.

K-12 students will receive a 50% discount on premium OmniRide service through the Free Fares for School program – one-way trips will cost just $2 with a student ID.

The Free Fares for School pilot program is for K-12 students only; all accompanying riders must pay appropriate fare. Visit our fares page for more info.

At this time, the Free Fares for School pilot program is for K-12 students only, and replaces Omnitrans’ 18 and under Youth Fare.
